2weeker & The Rain Thief

2weeker is currently being placed on hold. It was recently retooled into a bulletin board to maintain growth (The blog version was too... cliquey), but we quickly realized that this complicated things way too much and have since put it on hold.

In order for the concept of 2weeker to be successful, we need to do some serious retooling of it. We are currently in the process of transforming it into a much more user friendly application and expect to relaunch it later this year after the completion of The Rain Thief.

So here's the updated BWISH release schedule:

August 15th: An updated BWISH news system (This will make sense soon)

Decided to give the site a fresh coat of paint. So... here it is! I am currently working on a redevelopment of 2weeker which will launch this upcoming weekend. Once that's finished Mike will be satisfied and we can move onto rolling out The Rain Thief (Finally!)!

BWISH's latest (sponsored?) project, 2weeker, is now live (poor Rain Thief... forever delayed!)! Just what is a 2weeker (pronounced "tweaker")?

"2weeker is a collaborative blog whose writers are trying to change their lives two weeks at a time. We choose a habit, behavior, or activity and try to create, remove, or change it over the course of two weeks. We will then keep daily notes about the process of change and the implications for our daily lives."

And just how is BWISH involved? It's Mike's idea and I uh, made it Check it out!

3... 2... 1... Movies!

The BWISH Studios film archive is back online.

They've all been converted into Flash for easy viewing. I would have loved to provide a higher resolution for them but I have since lost all my original BWISH movie files and it makes me a VERY sad panda. All I have left are the web Quicktime versions. I still have all the original tapes and stuff but still... I'd have to be VERY bored to have to edit them again!

So the movies are back. Why you might ask? Because I was feeling nostalgic. With BWISH about to embark into brave new territory with the imminent release of The Rain Thief, I felt this desire to archive everything that was old BWISH and have it available. The movies are a huge part of BWISH Studios and have a lot of history and mythology associated with them. It's a selfish reason to put them back online and I am quite happy with that.

Having just watched them all again for the first time in a couple years... They're still just as horrible as I remember, but I still love them. With nostalgia comes inevitable sadness. I miss making movies! Maybe one day we'll make a new one, but for now we are focused on original story telling via comics! Like The Rain Thief!

Speaking of which... Mark February 24th on your calendar. Rain Thief will begin its debut on that Sunday. Uh, believe it?

PS. I've updated the 404 page. Why am I sharing something hopefully no has to come across? Because I'm happy with how it looks... Don't judge me!

Welcome Back

I've decided to bring back this little BWISH news page rather than rely on two sentence announcements on the homepage. I figured I could get away with as little information as possible but apparently I'm going to have a lot to say in the coming weeks. Yeah I know we suck; poor Rain Thief. I know everyone is just dying to see what the hell it is (Who's everyone...?). The good news is the project is now officially into it's production phase and will make its debut in the coming weeks.

2007 was a sad year for BWISH. There were many life changes for us over here (Moving, getting married, etc...) and BWISH kind of got pushed on the backburner. I have vowed that 2008 will be The Year of the BWISH! I fully expect to complete 4 new projects with a few awesome things scattered here and there for added satisfaction. BWISH's renewed focus on comics will bring original and amazing stories I hope you all will enjoy.

First up is obviously the oft-delayed Rain Thief which will (seriously this time) begin its run over the internet this February.

Welcome back, BWISH.

PS. Films are archived but they are back. I've decided to put them back online because of BWISH's history basically IS film and it's a shame to take them off. There's a lot of BWISH mythology and lore that new visitors simply wouldn't understand had they not seen them for. I'm working out something new for the actual videos so you can't really watch them again at the moment, but they'll be back 100% in the next week or two.

Moving Forward

If you're looking for the BWISH Films I apologize, but you're out of luck. It took a long time but we have decided to move past film making; at least for now. There's no promise we'll come back to making films but there is a slight hope, but I wouldn't hold your breath. So if you've had a chance to watch our movies and laugh at us and our horrible film making ability, um, thank you?

BWISH is moving past films and other superfluous work. We are becoming more focused and determined than ever to create shiny pretty things. Basically, we are putting all our energy in the medium of comics. We want to tell stories and provide, y'know, pretty things to look. Our first major project in this new era of BWISH is called The Rain Thief; which you most certainly have seen previews and teasers for throughout the site for some time now (Look up).

Goodbye Land Shark, Peeping Tom, Old Man, KrunkBot, and... The Interrogator...

Welcome to the slightly newer and mildly shinier BWISH Studios! While there isn't much in terms of new content per se... Everything has a fresh coat of new paint. With spring in the air (Minus the random ice storm yesterday) BWISH, and by BWISH I mean Mike and I, are ready to stop into the future! We are currently working on a collaborative comic project which you will be seeing a lot more of very soon.

So... Poke around! There may be a few surprises around the site. Not to ruin anything but there's a new format for watching the old BWISH film archives.

So yeah... I realized I haven't been updating the BWISH news even though I've been working on a lot of things. So let me remedy that by announcing what updates have been going on.

1) The Caution Man page got a makeover. I don't care for it so I'll probably redo it sometime. I'm also working on a new comic viewer that requires less manual labor so look out for that.

2) You'll notice my art as moved to it's own site, JustinBEvans.com. Mike still has the same location but I changed the links on the above navigation to reflect that BWISH has really come to be a collaborative/project archive for Mike and myself's work. A hub of artistic prowess if you will.

3) IMP (I Make Pretty!) is getting updated more often! Wow! You can check out what's been updated and when on the side bar over there -->

4) Mike and I are cooking up a pair of collaborative projects that will blow your mind. BLOW YOUR MIND. You'll get a preview of said projects soon.

After much deliberation as to who my Dallas Cowboys will be beating this year in the superbowl I've finally come to my conclusion. Utilizing the arduous process of going through each AFC division and coming up with an exact playoff scenario, I decided on the Bengals meeting the Colts in the Championship game. From this point, I made the decision that I have no faith in the Colts until they actually make it to a Superbowl. Therefore, the Cowboys will defeat the Bengals to become the Superbowl 41 Champions. Justin, ready my prize.

So... since 2 weeks without an update would put us in need of a little CPR, here's a non-real update!

Yeah...

Well, I hear from the Big Bwish himself that Caution Man's facelift is being done right now... apparently his first facelift looked too dangerous. It's looking safer now! Or so I assume...

Quotables will be hopefully updated very very soon, as I need to get started on the 3-parter about the Wedding I attended in ABQ. But, since I'm just back from a road trip with my girlfriend in hot, exciting, Southeastern New Mexico, it might be a few days.

Until then, pre-season football should whet your non-comedic apetite.

So it would appear somebody is actually using the CautionMan.com URL and as it turns out "Caution Man" is now the name of a band. What I find interesting however is that if you go to their "Detour" page, there's a link to our very own Caution Man! Has BWISH suffered the same fate as the horribly retarded Fallout Boy who is named after the popular Simpsons sidekick superhero?

But anyway, I just thought that was neat and thought I'd share.
